Letter sent to Sister Ann Clezy from W S Philip, president of the Alfred Hospital Board of Management in December 1971. This was the first time service badges had been awarded for either 15 or 25 years of service. Ann Clezy had commenced her training in 1954 and was awarded a 15-year service badge. The badge pinned to the letter is a 35-year service badge, which Ann Clezy would have received in 1989 (at which time Ann was working in Nursing Administration

Physical description
Black type on white paper with the Alfred Hospital letter head. The letter has a handwritten signature. Pinned to the top of the page is a red and white oval shaped enameled badge. In the red border are the words 'The Alfred Group of Hospitals Service on the banner underneath are the words '35 years' In the centre is a red cross on which an illustration of a lamp is superimposed
