This survey was undertaken to review the Alfred Hospital registered nurses uniform that had been introduced in 1982. For a period of approximately 18 months (November 1989-May 1991) a group of staff members (26 female and 12 male) trialled a variety of uniforms, at the end of the trial they were asked to complete a questionaire. Questionaires were also distrubted to 923 "observers" (nursing staff not wearin the trial uniforms) for their opinions. Copies of the questionaires are included in the report
