Physical description

This stretcher consists of two shafts of long grain light timber 45mm x 45mm. The ends of the timber have been turned down to form a handle. Underneath each shaft is a metal “foot” with an interlocking steel lever to the other shafts foot. On top is a khaki canvas section.
Near the end of the canvas are 4 eyelet holes. Also sewn on top is a leather belt and buckle near each end. Length of the leather belt is 430mm - width 25mm. The canvas is fixed to the shafts by a series of large tacks, spaced approx 25mm apart.
