Historical information

This is a set of 12 photographs taken at the Army Survey Regiment (ASR) Officers Mess Ball held at the Fortuna Villa on the 17th of February 1990. Photos of officers and their guests was taken on their arrival in the gardens at the front of the main building. The 3rd Military District Band provided the music. The Dinner was held at the rear of Fortuna Villa in temporary 20’ x 30’ Army tents set up on the roadway in front of the transport compound. The dance was held in the Ballroom on the top floor of Fortuna Villa with a civilian show band providing the music. provided the catering, the ASR’s Catering Corps, contractors and RASvy Other Ranks performed stewarding and kitchen hand duties.
