Clifton Hill was the heart of the shoe manufacturing industry in the immediate post World War II era. The company was highly regarded for producing structured children's footwear made of premium materials designed. These shoes are from their "Seraph" rangewhich was designed to combat the flat feet and structural posture issues common in children at the time. This focus on podiatric health earned them official certifications and the distinctive Approval Numbers.

The inscription "approval number 2047" stamped on their inner soles indicates that the shoe met government guidelines for structure and the use of local materials.
