The S.S. Strathmore, the ship featured in the image, was a troopship 1940-48.
This card was in a collection of Tobruk photos of E.E. Clyde, as above.

Physical description

The card consists of two sections, held together with coloured silk ribbon. The cardboard cover has a circular hole in the centre, diameter 6.3 cm. Around the circumference of the hole is a raised section, painted gold, to look like a ship's port hole. The greetings are in gold ink. The inner section is strong paper. A photo of the ship is printed on it and can be seen through the cover "Port Hole". In the centre is a 3 line christmas greeting.

Inscriptions & markings

Inside is written "To all at home". "From Fay".
