This document, a determination of the Hospital Nurses' Board, applied to the whole State of Victoria. As well as rates of pay, includes conditions, such as if accommodation was provided, 20 shillings could be deducted per week for board and lodging, laundry was to be provided free of charge. Ratio of trainee nurses to certified nurses was to be no more than six to one. Nurses were expected to work 50 hours, with one day off per week. Staff nurses and trainees, had three weeks annual leave, higher grades had four weeks. Nurse patient ratio, was 1:10 (day shift) and 1:15 (night shift).
