The Kiewa Valley was a farming district being developed by clearing and farming the land with cattle.

Significance

The Reid family were early settlers of the Kiewa Valley.. Their property was known as 'Willowdene' in Reid's Lane, Tawonga.
Reid's farm in Tawonga - photos showing building methods in the early days. The builder (the local bush carpenter) ,Jack Platt was well known in the area having built the Reid's home and the shed. A full account of the Reid family is on Pages 100 -to 102 of
