Historical information
Saw mills followed the hand-sawn method of cutting wood for timber to make buildings, furniture etc.. Many towns had a saw mill as did many farmers.
Significance
Tawonga saw mill supplied the local farmers with wood. It would have been used by the SECV prior to them building their own at Mt Beauty
