Historical information
1. Cottage was occupied during the construction of the Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme by the water gauging officer on the Bogong High Plains road.
2. Flying Fox was used prior to bridges being built across the Kiewa River.
Significance
In the early days of the Kiewa Valley and during construction of the the KHES, the water gauging officer measured and recorded the flow, volume, and quality of water in the Kiewa River.
