A horse collar is a part of a horse harness that is used to distribute the load around a horse's neck and shoulders when pulling a wagon or plough. The collar often supports and pads a pair of curved metal or wood pieces, called hames, to which the traces of the harness are attached. Horses were used to pull ploughs and carts and for transporting supplies in the early farming history of Emerald.

Physical description

Leather oval-shaped collar. Padded with straw so that is fairly rigid. A strap at one end of the collar to adjust the collar to the horse's body. (Missing are the complementary buckle at the other end of the collar and a second strap and buckle.)
