Physical description
1. Gold coloured medallion produced by Royal Mint. On the obverse side is the Australian Coat of Arms. The reverse symbolises the Navy, Army and Air FRorce over a stylized map of Australia.
2. Black hard cardboard box with the Australian Coat of Arms and lettering in gold on top. Gold coloured lettering inside. Medallion sits in a felt covered recess in box.
3. Four page souvenir pamphlet with colour illustration on front. Text in black type.
Inscriptions & markings
1. Inscribed around the edge of obverse: “WORLD WAR II, SERVICE TO AUSTRALIA”.
2. Embossed in Gold on top of box: Australian Coat of Arms above “AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT, Department of Veterans Affairs”. Printed in gold lettering inside: “60th Anniversary of the end of World War II, for Service to Australia”.
