This photographic portrait is of Mrs Florrie Meyenn (nee Middleton), wife of a German seaman. She ran one of the first guest houses in Emerald, Nottingham House, situated on the now Kilvington Drive, near the Scout Hall. Nursery workers used to board there. Mrs Meyenn later married Mr Ned Horwood.

Significance

This photograph of the proprietor of one of the earliest guest houses in Emerald recalls Emerald's early history of guesthouses.
