Pilot Officer Keith Omond BARNES, (Service no: 410093) was born in Newport on 6 March 1923 and enlisted in the RAAF on 15 August 1941. He served in the 49 Squadron and was Killed in Action in a Flying Battle near Berlin Germany, on 27 January 1944, aged 20 years
