In early settler days, people used whatever natural materials they could for building houses and furniture.Timber was plentiful.
A built-in sturdy rough hewn handmade wooden bench with four heavy red gum slabs forming the bench top. Two legs at the front are formed from roughly trimmed pieces of tree branch. This is attached to the all of the Slab Kitchen below a small window.
