Thread-winders had been essential sewing tools when cotton and threads were bought in skeins and needed to be sound onto something to keep them from tangling.
Souvenir thread winder (one of set of three). Scenes of Wartburg Castle (where Luther translated the New Testament into German) and Landgrafenhaus - the Great Haall of the Warburg Castle.
