Dangar, Gedye and Malloch (DGM) was an historic Australian agricultural machinery and merchant company established in 1838 and became associated with Lister in 1909. Based in Sydney, it was famous for distributing farm equipment like Lister shearing machines designed by Australian Jim Davidson. In the 1970s and 1980s, large, solid-brass belt buckles became a popular fashion statement and collectible. Companies like Lister used them as promotional merchandise and customer giveaways for farmers, agricultural mechanics, and shearing gangs.

Physical description

An oval shaped brass and metal Lister belt buckle with the name, a symbol of shears and the manufacturing details stamped on the front. There is a rusted metal attachment on the back.
