This appears to be a photograph of the stage of the Emerald Mechanics Hall decorated for the occasion of welcoming back and celebrating the young men who had fought in World War I. 34 local young men died fighting in this war.

The picture has a banner with the words: 'WELCOME HOME / TO OUR BOYS / DUTY / NOBLY DONE'
On the back of the print two handwritten inscriptions, the first in biro: 'After 1st World War'.
The second in pencil: 'R.S.L. Emerald'
