These surrenders were undertaken in several locations, this one covers New Guinea, New Britain, New England, Bouganville, and adjacent Islands. This was signed on HMS Glory of Rabual at 11.30 hrs on 6th Sept 1945. Copies of the original were available to the Soldiers.

Document copy of original, "Instrument of Surrender" of the Japanese Forces in the Pacific region in 1945. Signed by the Japanese Commander in Chief Southeatern Army and Lt General Sturdee Commanding First Australian Army.
