A slim book titled Early Australian Samplers 1831 - 1940 showing on the front cover, a coloured photograph of a house and garden from the incomplete coloured sampler made by Janet Barr, aged 17 years of The Lords Prayer and texts from Eccelsiastes and Isiah in 1858. The title and dates are printed in yellow and red at the top of the front cover. The title page has all publishing details. Inside are 34 black and white photographs of various samplers stitched by young girls, teenagers and one boy, explaining the history of each. On the back of the title page is an explanation about the contents and history; also thanking the Australian Embroiderers Guild. P. 36
