This is a white covered biography of Joseph Wilson, with the title and author printed in Roman style black lettering on the front cover, and a coloured painting of a clipper tall ship in the middle. Inside the front left end paper is a Log Book entry written by Joseph Wilson Sept 1 - 1841. There is Acknowledgements; Table of Contents and Preface followed by 21 Chapters and a Postscript. The book is very detailed of Joseph's life with black and white photographs, log entries, tables, illustrations, poems and lists. The back end paper has details and a black and white photograph of the author, Les Hutchinson, (Joseph Wilson's great-great grandson) and his family. The back cover has a blurb explaining the contents as well as a coloured painting of a view of Lilydayle in 1897. Pp.167.

This is a 1988 local history biography written by Australian local historian Les Hutchinson, the great, great grandson of Joseph Wilson. This is the story of one of Australia's quiet achievers, Joseph Wilson (1810-1897) an early pioneer in Victoria and the early Baptist Church in Victoria.
