Physical description
John Morgan first resided in Williamstown in 1855, having migrated from Bristol England.
He established himself in real estate forming John Morgan and Co and became a large property owner and in partnership with Mr. W.H. Roberts erected the Sailsbury Buildings, in Nelson Place. He was one of the earliest members of the Williamstown council and the Mechanics Institute and one of the most prominent men in the town.
He was a Justice of the Peace, a Vice President of the Hospital and for many years a director of the Country of Bourke Building Society.
He died on the 26th January 1910.
