A vintage meat safe cabinet is a traditional freestanding food storage unit from the 1800s to the mid-19th/20th century featuring perforated metal mesh or wire panels. These panels allowed vital air circulation while keeping flies and pests away from fresh meat and perishables before domestic refrigerators became common.

Physical description

A vintage brown painted wooden meat safe with two drawers at the top with round brown knobs.There are two doors below, which each have two square green painted mesh ventilation panels. On both sides are two green mesh ventilation panels. Inside is a shelf, with the underneath section divided into two partitions vertically. It has four turned brown wooden legs. The top of the safe has added shaped wooden sides to stop items falling off.
