Physical description

The former Metropolitan Fire Brigade Station in Cecil Street, Williamstown. The brick station was built in 1893 to serve as a suburban outpost for the newly established Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB). Throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the Williamstown Fire Brigade operated with horse-drawn steam appliances and later housed Daimler motor cars.
