Physical description
1. This is a pocket sized book. The cover is hard cardboard covered with khaki buckram. In the centre of the front cover is a little square label showing record of service, name, Training area and DOB. Inside are pages of army forms and with handwritten reports and measurements.
2. Loosely inserted at the rear is a paper certificate. It is a Qualifying Certificate for Corporal. Dated 19th July 1921.
Inscriptions & markings
Written near the spine is the name "BURGEN T". Written on white label is : “BURGEN Theodore Alexander, Training Area 50A St Kilda West. Year of Birth - 1902”.
