Frances M Bennett (known to her family as May) was born in 1901. She completed her general nursing training at the Alfred Hospital, Melbourne in 1925. Frances gained further qualifications in Midwifery and Infant Welfare. After qualification she worked in private hospitals and Infant Welfare Centres, before retiring from nursing upon her marriage in 1945.
