A souvenir pennant of the Ballarat memorial Peace Day celebrations on June 10th 1946.
During World War II Ballarat was a garrison town with an RAAF base, and USA servicemen billeted and in an encampment at the city's Victoria Park. The city celebrated the peace day ten months after the end of the war in June 1946.
