Historical information

Hair oil was historically used to smooth and nourish hair, by both men and women. These jugs probably date from the late 1800s.

Physical description

Pair of small urn shaped china jugs, with ornate gold rimmed handles, hand painted with sprays of yellow and mauve flowers. Very small pouring holes and spout. Probably used for hair oil, and as a dressing table accessory.
