Historical information

The hamlet of Eaglehawk was established following the discovery of gold in 1852. By 1863, when the Borough of Eaglehawk was created, the population was between 7,000 - 8,000. A 'Bendigo Advertiser' newspaper of 1866 states that buildings were springing up everywhere, adding permenance to the tents of the residents. Information for this book has come from people's old books, newspaper cuttings, boxes previously stored, and old cook books. Produced by the Eaglehawk Heritage Society it was produced to share recipes and local history of Eaglehawk. Eaglehawk Heritage Society ceased operations in 2022. ISBN 0958524904.
