Significance

The cash account books are both historially and socially significant as the entries give an insight into the growth of the company. They also detail payments from both local and government offices, overseas customers, and significant companies, associations, and people.

Physical description

Hard cover accounts paid book with khaki green cloth outer covers and black corner pieces. Inner covers made from black and grey mottled decorative paper. Inner front cover has stationer's label on it. Pages have brown leather tabs affixed to sides, with letters M-Z then A-Z on tabs. Pages all un-numbered.
