Significance

The original Lox-on mantle was introduced in 1928 along with the Aladdin model 12 kerosene lamp. Kerosene lamps were extensively used in the area before the arrival of electricity.

On the front of cardboard box is inscribed 'Aladdin Lox-on Mantle for use only with Model 14 Super Aladdin and Model 12 Aladdin Lamps'
On other sides of the box it has details of manufacturer's address and instructions for use.
