Historical information

Corresponmdence, grant applications, and administrative documents relating to the Emerald Library which operated at the side of the Emerald Mechanics Institute Hall from 1958 to 1979. Initial establishment of the l.ibrary was led by Jean Lehmann, manager of the Emerald & District Cooperative Society. The library was operated by a voluntary committee with grants from Sherbrooke Shire Council. It closed on introduction of the Sherbrooke mobile Library.
