This short book 'Tales Out of School' written by Ann Krans and published by the Monbulk Historical Society in 2000 is an account of the author's teaching experiences 1952-1975 in four primary schools in the Dandenongs: Emerald Primary School; Upwey Primary School; Upper Ferntree Gully Primary School; and Kallista Primary School.

Significance

Ann Krans was a teacher at Emerald Primary School in 1952 and 1953. Her account of her time there and at other local schools provides a former teacher's insight into the history of the Emerald State School.
