Significance

These items were donated by John Hartnell who was the Secretary of the Rural Fire Brigade (RFB), Country Fire Authority in 1963. RFBs are essential organisations in small rural communities like Emerald which are historically vulnerable to bushfires.

One brass coated plaque with the following engraving: 'Emerald RFB' and onesmall white oval badge with the following engraving: 'Secretary R.F.B. Country Fire Authority'. Donated by John Hartnell who was the Secretary in 1963.
