Donated by Elaine Morris, granddaughter of Carl Axel Nobelius. Elaine, who was born around 1934, grew up in Emerald and played with this tea set as a child.
Bakelite was the world's first synthetic plastic.

Significance

This child's tea set belonged to a descendant of Carl Axel Nobelius founder of Gembrook Nurseries.

Physical description

Yellow Sellex bakelite children's tea set. Two saucers and two plates and two cups and one milk jug and one tea pot. One plate is missing a piece.
