Historical information

At that time, the local football clubs included a Belle of Ball competition at their Presentation Balls. The Emerald Football Club belonged to the Mountain District Association. Lesley won the Emerald Football Club's 'Belle' award and then went on to win the Association's 'Belle' award. These awards provide an interesting insight into how football clubs operated at the time and how they included women.
