Significance

Sony Ericsson was a technological mobile phone marriage of Sweden and Japan starting in 2001 - with a particular focus on design. Sony Ericsson ultimately failed to keep pace with rapid technological advancements and innovations in the mobile industry that could compete with Apple's iPhone and Samsung's Galaxy series and Sony acquired the brand in 2012. This particular phone came out in 2008 - a year after the release of Apple's iPhone.
