This coronation bell belonged to Karen Alexander who grew up in Belgrave in the 1940s and 1950s.

Significance

There was widespread excitement in Australia regarding the coronation of the young queen in 1953 and this commemorative bell reflects that.

Small brass bell with crown-like handle and raised lettering around the edge. Souvenir of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. Donated by Karen Alexander who grew up in Belgrave.
