Significance

The Emerald Waterboard Trust was very significant to Emerald and district involved in the delivery of potable water and some sewerage.
Their office was situated next to the Emerald water tower in KIngs Road
The interior of this office shows the type of machines used in offices during the 1980s and 1990s for communication, recording data, producing receipts and keeping rates records etc.

There are two males working in this room
The man in the foreground is sitting in an office chair He has dark hair and is wearing glasses. He is wearing a dark coloured jumper and a light coloured shirt collar can be seen at his neck. He is looking at a Personal Computer and has his right hand on a keyboard infront of him, which has white keys.
The second male is standing behind the seated man. He has dark hair and is wearing a dark coloured jumper with light coloured trousers. The jumper has a small, light coloured design on the left chest area. On the man's left wrist is a metal chain link bracelet which he is wearing over the sleeve of his jumper.
This man is holding a landline telephone handpiece to his left ear. The telephone has a spiral cord. He is leaning forward and appears to be looking at the seated man's computer.
Behind the seated man there is an office chair and desk. On the desk is a keyboard with white keys and a small computer, a fax machine and some paper. Next to an adjoining wall is a photocopier and a large poster on the wall above it. Behind the desk is a metal office cupboard.
On a wall to the right of the seated man is a metal cupboard with a metal handle. The front of the cupboard appears to have several lights and monitors on it. Next to this cupboard is a photograph on the wall and below it is a filing cabinet. A small typewriter is visible on top of a plastic box next to the seated man. Daylight is coming through a high window and electric lighting is also seen in the room.
