Significance

The man in the photograph is known to have been a councillor in the Shire of Sherbrooke. This shire is no longer in existence. He was also Publican of the Paradise Hotel in Clematis, now known as The Paradise Valley Hotel.
He was a well known local identity of the Emerald district.

Physical description

A rectangular, black and white photograph printed on matte paper. This photograph depicts a man and he is photographed from the waist up. He has his hands behind his back. He is smiling widely . His hair line is receding but has a lot of hair growth around the sides and towards the back.
He is dressed in a dark jumper (?wool) which has a vertical cable pattern. At the neckline the collar of a light coloured short is visible. The man is standing beside a piece of large machinery which has wheels and looks to be of metal construction, possibly a road grader. There are tall trees visible in the background.
The man in the picture is Colin Richards. He was a councillor in the Shire of Shrbrooke in the 1990's and Publican of The Paradise Hotel in Clematis.
