Significance

This item hold historical significance as it shows both some of the shops around Emerald at the time of its creation and the history of AFL in Emerald, it is also of social significance as it shows the history of sport a social activity in Emerald.

Physical description

Rectangular colour photograph printed on gloss photographic paper. The colour photograph depicts AFL players from two different teams mid match. Five players can be seen in the foreground in red shorts and black AFL jerseys with a red band running diagonally from their left shoulder to right hip. Three of these players can be seen attempting to catch the ball on the left half of the image while two others look on to the right side of the image. Four players from the other team can also be seen in the foreground wearing black red white striped jerseys and white shorts, two of these players can also be seen trying to catch the ball while two others look on from the right side of the image. further back on the field. Four more players can be seen two from each team. Behind the players, the goal posts can be seen, and standing by the white field fence onlookers can be seen watching the game.
