A copy of the Mountain District Free Press from 18 November 1954 documents how a meeting was held on 10 November of the same year to discuss the formation of a tennis club at Emerald, confirming that the Tennis Club has a long history in the town.

The Happy Medium Photo Co. was established by Keith McGrath in 1968. As of 2023, their portfolio includes a variety of small and large scale social functions around Greater Sydney and surrounds in New South Wales.

Significance

The record holds strong historic significance as it pertains to the Emerald Tennis Club. Sport has long played a prominent role in Emerald as a popular physical and leisurely activity, dating back to the formation of the Emerald Football Club in 1905. Its significance is further supported by excellent provenance; the record was donated to the Emerald Museum by one of the individuals pictured in the photograph.
