Significance

The Teasdale family were shop proprietors in the 1940s in Emerald. Kevin Teasdale has written extensively about Emerald in that period. His writings are contained with photographs in his family folder in Filing Cabinet 6C.

Photograph of Bill Teasdale with his parents Joe and Nell Teasdale in front of their shop in Beaconsfield Road (now Kilvington Drive). They are located in front of the present-day Emerald Bakery. The Grady's shop and the Legge's shop are in the background on the present-day site of the Emerald Fruit Shop and other shops to the corner of Heroes Avenue. Year: 1941

Location: where people now drink coffee (in front of the Emerald Bakery of 2012. The Grady's dwelling and Legges' shop are in the background. They have been replaced by today's (2012) fruit shop and other shops to the corner of Heroes Avenue.
