This item is used in surgery to remove adenoid tissue. This item was owned by Dr Lorna Lloyd-Green.Adenoid curette (.1) with detachable snare attachment (.2). Curette has a fluted grip. The number '7' is impressed in the inside of the shaft near the grip, and near the head. Snare attachment has three teeth and the head of the attachment is on a swivel joint which rotates 270 degrees. The number '7' is impress on the inner surface of the snare, and 'SURGICAL CO' is impressed on the outer surface.'7', 'SURGICAL CO.'surgery

Metal tongue depressor with anaesthetic tube attachment. Consists of proximal and distal blades, and a blade shaft. "4" marking on the upper distal end of the blade. There is a short metal tube alongside the proximal flange, attached to the upper section of the flange, which is turned inwards and down with a small bulb on the end. Plastic or rubber tubing can be attached to this bulb. There is a smaller rounded flange at the distal end of the shaft.

In the 1950s and 60s, Ferguson's bone cutters were used by obstetricians to remove the foreskin during circumcisions. This may not be an original complete set. There appears to be a slight variation in the colour of the specula. The largest is quite definitely brown. The other three appear black at certain angles. The bag and contents are a unique time capsule of the type of instruments and pharmaceuticals used in the inter-war period.Collection of suture needles in wooden case. Portable blood pressure machine with case. Device consists of an arm cuff with a tube, rubber pressure bulb and gauge. The arm cuff is made of a khaki green material, with attached velcro and an attached label that reads 'KATCH/KUFF'. Tubing and pressure bulb are made of green rubber. The pressure gauge indicates that this device is made in Germany. Case is made of black leather and the inside of thh case is reinforced with cream plastic.

Bisque porcelain figurine of a male doctor holding a medical instrument. The doctor has grey hair and is in surgical attire, with white gown, gloves, surgical hat and mask. The cuffs of his brown trousers, and his black shoes, are visible below the gown. The doctor is wearing glasses on the end of his nose, and holds a surgical tool in his right hand. The figurine is standing on a base with a painted green stripe across the centre, and is supported by a pillar at the back which is decorated with decorative orange and black squiggly lines. Orange and black squiggly lines also feature on the front of the base. Handwritten lettering on a sticker on underside of base reads 'FF'.

This tool could also be used as a destructive instrument. This instrument was used by Dr Fritz Duras (1896-1965), who moved to Australia from Germany in 1937. As his father was Jewish, Duras was forced to leave Germany , and came to Australia to take up a post as director of physical education at Melbourne University. As his father was Jewish, Duras was forced to leave Germany , and came to Australia to take up a post as director of physical education at Melbourne University. Metal pelvimeter.
