Kellaway at the ministry for planning and environment on 16/06/1988 and 10/08/1988. The latter includes research material regarding the ‘ALNWICK’ house including a brief description of the history of Sir James Patterson, photos of the house and a newspaper extract regarding its sale. The other letters were sent to the secretary of Caulfield Historical Society from the Historic Buildings Council inviting them to attend a hearing about ‘Alnwick’s’ classification. Syd Cuffe was the Portland Town Crier from 1983 to 2013. The role of Town Crier was created for Syd Cuffe in 1983 in the lead up to Portland’s 150th anniversary celebrations held in 1984-85. 200 items from Mr. Cuffe’s estate were donated to the Glenelg Shire Cultural Collection.
