The original Weatherly Library was situated in the space immediately on the left of the archway. The fittings and furnishing of the library was a generous gift in 1936 of Mrs H P Mackenzie of Trawalla in honour of her pioneer parents, Mr and Mrs William Weatherly. The library was panelled with blackwood and fitted with shelves intended to eventually house 3000 books. Specially made solid blackwood chairs, upholstered in genuine hide, two long reading tables, an upholstered bench seat under the north window and an ornate carved mantelpiece topped by a classical broken pediment framing a carved head of Minerva were also donated. In 1971 this library was no longer large enought o serve the growing number of boys at the college; it was replaced by a bigger, separate building, also known as the Weatherly Library. This building is currently in use, and recently renovated, as the senior staff room. In 1993 a third library building was opened and named Erindale in recognition of property associated with Clarendon PLC. In 2012 the school opened the Fraser Library on the senior campus in honour of old collegian and school council chair, Darrell J Fraser. Book prize awarded to Newton Wanliss for excellence in History by William Henderson Chair of Council. Newton subsequently donated the book back to the school for inclusion in the Weatherly LIbrary in 1937. Accession number 1812. The book was catalogued and call number 910.12 painted on spine. Socially significant item due to signature of William Henderson, founder of the school. Prizes were usually given in the name of the Headmaster. During Headmaster McCoy's time (1864 - 1874) the prizes were given in his name and at his expense. The school was between principals at Christmas 1876, hence the signature of William Henderson. The Dorey Family ran The Hospice from 1908 - 1911. The Hospice burned down in 1924. The reverse of the postcard contains a small section of a letter that must be continued elsewhere. The Volunteers Air Observers was formed in 1941 with the aim of observing aircraft flying over Australia. There were over 24,000 civilians volunteering their services and as the military threat to Australia subsided they took on roles as coast and weather watching. This wooden memorial has shadows of the its former inscription which are indecipherable due to weathering of the timber. The grave is located beside a tree in the Church of England section with a marker "CE 62" and immediately adjacent to Procter family grave. Mt Bogong is the highest mountain in Victoria. The Staircase Spur track to its top starts at Mountain Creek Road going through forest and continuing above the snow line to grass land. The Galen Dome was constructed during the 2019 school year. It is centrally situated between the College's main building and the Senior School buildings. This postcard was sent by "O.G." to J. Gawler on 7 February 1915 from an Army camp in Egypt. The postcard appears to have been hung up by a thumb tack as there is a small hole at the top centre of the card. This item is representative of the letters and postcards that were sent home to war by servicemen during the First World War and was a way to maintain a connection to their loved ones during difficult and uncertain times. Postcards were a very common form of communication in the first World War. This postcard also records places for those who didn't have cameras. This type of souvenir would have been familiar to the first Legatees as they had served in World War 1 and many had passed through Egypt.The front image of the postcard is a photograph of a camp of white canvas tents lined up in rows in front of a pyramid. Several soldiers can be seen walking throughout the campsite. On the reverse is a message written in black ink. There is also a small hole in the top centre of the postcard.Message on reverse of postcard is dated 7.2.15 and says: "This is a view of part of Mena camp where the 1st Australian Division has been camped.
