Yields information about the condition of the ESCo tram fleet at the time of the SEC takeover of the operations their appearance, the reconstruction work and trackwork to rehabilitate the system. Demonstrates an important era of the Ballarat Tramways through the SEC preparing an album of photographs. On side of notebook, in the same cloth, a holder for a short pencil has been provided. On inside end paper, has a sticker of the "The Commercial Notebook", discount table. In pencil is "J.H. Prisk / 516 Drummond / Ballarat" On first pages inside are details of change float, tickets sold, type , returns commencing "Monday 15/12" (1913) through to March 10 (1914), then many pages with monetary calculations, then sketches of tramcar lighting circuits, noes on cabling, roses, switches, current densities, and conduits lengths etc. Last page in notebook has notes re times of cards ex Sheds and Sebastopol and working hours on various runs. The transient nature of a diggings is indicated by the digger's dwelling places, which were either tents - - - Slide shows that only the bare necessities were found in a miner's tent. You would find a table, a stump for a stool, makeshift bed, cooking posts and kettle, under the table you can see a pair of boots and some items that may be ingredients for cooking. The Fashion & Design collection of Kew Historical Society includes examples of textiles dating from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. Some of the textiles, were used as items of clothing, others as items of household decoration, or simply as travel souvenirs. These textiles were created both domestically and internationally. Predictably with the growth of an ethnically and culturally more diverse community in Kew after the Second World War, textiles, clothing and objects in the collection inevitably reflected this diversity. Rust coloured oval, pure silk throw or shawl. The fabric is very fine and decorative rather than functional. There are no joins in the fabric as it is made of one piece.
