This set of map prints was assembled as a training aid. The collection is a complete set of individual color prints of each colour used on the final printed maps for each map Joint Operations Graphic (JOG) JOG Ground and JOG Air versions. This map series was produced in two versions to help coordinate military Ground Operations and Air Operations. The ground users required that heights and measurements were in Metres, whilst air users required height information in Feet for altimeters. The Air Version also contained more Aeronautical information including safe flying height information called Maximum Elevation Figures (MEF). Later printing of JOG incorporated printing in just four colours Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black (CMYK). Air Raid Precautions organisations were established in each state in Australia during World War 2. Air Raid Precautions in Victoria were run by Civil Defense organisation. This handbook, one of a series of handbooks, used in Caulfield during World War 2.Represents the importance of air raid wardens to civilian defence to handle the threat posed thus officials issued instructions on what to do in case of an air raid. This handbook was used for the Air Raid Precautions in Caulfield during World War 2.Printed handbook has 66 pages bound in soft cover of heavy weight buff colour with red spine.On front cover contains Victoria coat of arms, stamped with 'Caulfield Historical Society' in top right hand corner, handwritten in pen '64' and in pencil 'Box 4/1'. The Australian Air League was formed in 1934, in an era when Australian Aviators such as Sir Charles Kingsford-Smith, Charles Ulm, Bert Hinkler, Sir Ross and Keith Smith and others were household names and heroes. The first Squadron was opened in Manly (NSW) and the Air League quickly spread throughout that state. In early 1939 the first Squadron was opened in Victoria and in 1944 the first Girls Section was formed. The Flying Log Book was used by A315699 Lindsay William Fankhauser from qualifying as a helicopter crewman on 9 Dec 66 until a new Flight Log Book was issued on 15 Feb 74. The Lindsay Fankhauser lived in Gisborne and was a member of the Vietnam Veterans Association based at Woodend RSL. The Flying Log Book provides a complete record of Lindsay Fankhauser including flying hours, qualifications, annual reports, photographs of crew and aircraft from 1966 until 1974.Blue book held within a brown leather bookcover.
