Book, Memoirs Remarks and the 69 Tram - Peter Le Get, 2023, 2023
383-page soft cover book of autobiographical recollections"Embark on an unconventional journey through these memoirs, deliberately crafted for family and friends rather than a formal public unveiling. This is no linear biography but a mosiac of reflections, capturing a lifetime in a unique tapestry of notes and thoughts. Within these pages, certain chapters remain untouched, retraining their raw and unfiltered essence, sprinkled with a touch of vulgarity. Assembled over time, the narrative weaves through earlier writings and recent additions, filling gaps in the story and revealing the unvarnished truth of a life well-lived. - Peter Le Get" -

Vehicle - Kayak
Paul Caffyn undertook perhaps the ultimate kayak circumnavigation, a 9,420mile journey around Australia in 1981/2 which took 360 days to complete. ‘The Dreamtime Voyage’ is his account of this odyssey which is acknowledged as one of the most remarkable journeys ever undertaken by kayak. Paul had to contend with a tropical cyclone which nearly swept him off a small offshore islet in the Coral Sea, raging surf, tiger sharks which frequently bumped into the kayak in the Gulf of Carpentaria, crocodiles, sea snakes and three sections of sheer limestone cliffs. To overcome the three 100 mile plus long sections of cliffs, Paul used Nodoz tablets to stay awake and Lomotil to keep his bowels dormant during these overnight paddles. The longest stint along the awesome Zuytdorp Cliffs in Western Australia, took 34 hours of continuous paddling.Sea kayak used by Paul Caffyn to circumnavigate Australia in 1981-82. The mounted photograph is one of a series used for display purposes. The water tower at Sunbury Station was built in 1861 by J. Bett. it is of state significance and is an indicator of the importance of the railway to Sunbury's expansion in the Nineteenth Century. Steam trains needed sufficient steam power to climb the steep gradients over the Great Dividing Range and the water tower at Sunbury was used to replenish the trains' water supply for the remainder of the journey.A black and white photograph of the water tower at Sunbury Railway Station. The bell came from the ship Netherby, which was wrecked on King Island. The full story of the bell's journey from King Island is unclear, but assumption is that Roadknight family may have transferred it from their property in the Western District to Gippsland.
