The Geelong Cycling Club was formed in Geelong in 1908 and subsequently replaced in 1911 by the Geelong West Cycling Club as reflected in the minutes. Many of the office bearers of this club fought in World War 1.This is the first minute book of the Geelong Cycling Club and as such identifies it as one of the cycling clubs in the area in that period.Minute book used by the Geelong Cycling Club from 1908-1914. In 1920 the Prince of Wales embarked on a journey to Australia on behalf of his father, King George V. While the visit was intended to strengthen the relationship between Australia and the Empire, the main objective was to offer thanks to the Australian men and women for the sacrifices and contributions that they had made during World War I. The Royal Tour began in April 1920 and covered 110 cities and towns across the country. The Prince spent eleven days in New South Wales, nine days in Victoria, four days in Tasmania, eleven days in Western Australia, six days in South Australia and eight days in Queensland. Correspondence (1980) re Presentation Tray to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Moffat, Ravenswood. Tray acknowledges ''their genial hospitality and many estimable qualities''. Presented to Moffat in 1884 on their departure to Ballarat. The tray is inscribed with the names of some 45 members of the Sandhurst community of the day. Enquiry re places and names mentioned on the tray came from Jules L Tardent (of Gold Coast) via the City of Bendigo who had received the enquiry in first instance.
